The Matt Cook Collective is a Kansas City-based jazz quintet with a forward mindset and modern sound. Drawing from a group of diverse musicians, the band comes together to create memorable, beautiful improvised music. The group has toured three times across 6 states. Band members include Joel Gordon (composer), Matthew Clinkenbeard (composer), Nick Brown, and Nate McDonald.
While on the road playing at incredible venues such as the Green Lady Lounge and Urban Artifact, the group has put on educational clinics for over a thousand public school music students.
The group has released one EP and most recently a crowdfunded full-length project, Along Those Lines, featuring compositions by Cook, Matt Clinkenbeard, and Joel Gordon. It's available online, anywhere that you get your music.
