Little Maggie was formed in 2012 with the notion that the group of friends could make music together. The music would be acoustic, it would be sweet, positive and sentimental. It would make the world a better place. And, since they were friends, they could accomplish all this without fighting each other.
Actually they are more than friends. They are three married couples.
So when the songs started to come, some were sweet and stuff. But it became clear that existing acoustic Americana, bluegrass and folk music was mainly about only a few topics. Death was a big one. Religion was another, but the music’s view of religion was not always so sweet (ex. Troubles, Trials, Tribulations). And then there were songs about love, which more often than not ended up about death too.
This rich palette of emotions and verbal pictures was the perfect way to present the band’s 3-part-girl harmony and it’s multi-talented instrumentalists. The rest is history.
